PUFFY Paintings

Fun Activity for a rainy day or just for something a little different.

You will need:
  • Cardboard to paint on
  • Cotton Buds
  • 1 tablespoon self-raising flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • Food Colouring
  • Water
  • Bowls to mix paint in
  1. Collect all the above materials and ingredients first and lay them out on bench.
  2. Mix flour, salt and enough water to make a smooth paste.
  3. Add a couple of drops of food colouring and mix until blended well.
  4. Pop a cotton bud in each colour and your ready to paint and design your art work.
  5. Paint your picture onto the cardboard and make sure you use a nice amount to keep it thick. This will help it go puffier.
  6. Put your cardboard in the microwave for 10-15 seconds the first time. If you find this is not long enough for the paint to puff up and dry, try another 10-15 seconds.
IMPORTANT - BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING FROM MICROWAVE AS IT WILL BE HOT. DON'T TOUCH PAINT UNTIL IT COOLS DOWN.
